Patsy Blasdell Expressionist Patsy Blasdell is a lover of life and color. Her sense of humor is exhibited when painting a portrait with lime green hair or a cat with blue fur and orange eyes. Expressionism if reflected in the color and line of a painting subject but design and composition are the most important factors in taking a work to fruition. Whether painting with watercolor, oil, pastel or acrylic the structure of the piece must be based on solid principles. Splashes of paint thoughtfully guided over the basic design results in an energetically charged work of art. Subject matter varies from landscapes painted on location to a still life set up in Patsy’s studio. Her love of animals, as well as her fascination with the human face, adds to the interesting topics explored in her world of art. Patsy and Larry, her husband of 37 years, are happily coping with his newfound occupation of retiree in the lovely mountain village of Ruidoso. WOO HOO!!
