Molly Boyd Molly moved to the mountains of Southeastern New Mexico in 2001 and says that she found more than just a new place to live. She also found a new side of her personality and discovered the joys of playing with clay. So, she built a studio and went back to being a kid again, devoting her time to making fun and functional pieces of pottery. She loves the mountain spirit of the area around Alto and Ruidoso, and she tries to incorporate the freedom and vitality of that spirit into her pottery. Her “crazy“ horses are whimsical representations of the animal that plays such an important role in Ruidoso. Each one is fun and unique -- and Molly names them all. They also have “registration” papers to show their lineage and Molly writes a short story that tells how each one came to live in New Mexico. Come to the Alto Studio Tour and meet a few of them: Red Headed Stranger, Turquoise on the Souls of Her Shoes, Woody Two Shoes, and Toreo Doro. |
