Verla Caster An oil painter of landscapes and still life for 20 years, Verla converted to China/porcelain painting in 2000. “The fragile nature of fine china delicately covered with floral images has always challenged me,” replies Verla when asked why she changed mediums. Since beginning the quest of China Painting, she has studied under the direction of the world’s leading instructors. As a member of the World Organization of China Painters, she has worked with national artists and has become familiar with a myriad of styles, techniques, and graphic presentations that has enriched her art. She has developed her own eclectic style with bold subjects and a blending of natural colors. Her favorite techniques emphasize a clean, uncluttered subject, delicately shaped and presented in realistic colors. |
