Patricia Oxford Painting has always been an interest of mine, but until moving to Ruidoso in 1999, I was never able to pursue it. I first watched painting shows on TV, which encouraged me to try. On moving into our new home in Alto, we had a room that had a very large blank wall, so I decided to paint a mural and put some color on it to brighten it up. That was my first endeavor. I attended painting classes with an excellent artist, Sharon Bundick. She taught me a great deal and encouraged me to paint. I am forever grateful to Sharon. I also enrolled in a painting class with an exceptional artist and teacher, Lorene Caywood, who has helped me to progress. I like to paint the old villages and gorgeous countryside of my native England. I am happy to say that my paintings have improved a great deal since the days of my first project, the mural, which serves as a daily reminder of how far I have come. This room is now my studio.
